Documentary 'Fork in the Road' Highlights Challenges for U.S. Independent Farmers
A new documentary titled 'Fork in the Road,' executive produced by Lyme resident Lisa Holmes, is shedding light on the struggles faced by independent farmers across the United States. The film explores the impacts of conventional agriculture, climate change, and economic inequality on these farmers. It features actor Nick Offerman and has already been accepted into over 30 film festivals, winning the Best Conservation Film award at the Mystic Film Festival. The project, which began before the COVID-19 pandemic, initially aimed to focus on chefs and restaurateurs but shifted its narrative to farmers as the pandemic highlighted vulnerabilities in the food supply chain.
