FDA Announces Recall of Multiple Snack Mixes Due to Salmonella Risk
John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of several snack mix products, including those sold under the Fisher, Squirrel Brand, and Southern Style Nuts labels, as well as a Good & Gather snack mix distributed by Target. The recall is due to potential salmonella contamination linked to a seasoning ingredient from a third-party supplier, California Dairies, Inc. Although the affected seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella prior to use, the recall is a precautionary measure. The products involved include various trail mixes with 'best by' dates extending into 2027. No illnesses have been reported so far, and consumers are advised to return the products for a refund or replacement.
