Car Crashes into Willamette River in Portland, Leaving 2 Dead and 1 Missing
In Portland, Oregon, a tragic incident occurred when a car, driving the wrong way at high speed, crashed into the Willamette River early Monday morning. The Portland Police Bureau reported that the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. when an officer observed the vehicle running red lights and attempted to stop it. The driver did not comply, and the car eventually entered Waterfront Park and plunged into the river. Emergency responders rescued one individual from the water, who was then taken to a hospital for evaluation. Unfortunately, two bodies were recovered from the river, and one person remains unaccounted for, presumed dead. The individuals involved were between 17 and 20 years old. The search and rescue operations faced challenges due to zero visibility and high river flow conditions.
