Coastal Flood Advisory for Delaware and New Jersey Shorelines
A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for New Castle County, Delaware, and Salem County, New Jersey. The advisory is in effect from 9:00 PM EDT tonight until 2:00 AM EDT Wednesday. Elevated tides, influenced by the approach of the New Moon on August 12, are expected to cause minor coastal flooding during evening high tides through Thursday. Up to one-half foot of inundation above ground level is anticipated in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. Flooding is most likely to occur during high tide, with water levels reaching minor flood stage at the Delaware River's Reedy Point tide gauge.
