The incident came to light following a Facebook post accusing the restaurant staff of skinning a dead animal outside the premises. Local police, upon investigation, found the deer carcass stored alongside other food items. The restaurant employee claimed the deer was found on the roadside and intended for personal use, not for serving to customers. This incident has prompted investigations by the Louisiana Department of Health and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. The restaurant has a history of health code violations, including storing chemicals above food, which were corrected after a follow-up inspection.
