A collection of speeches and writings by Pope Leo XIV has been certified as human-authored by Proudly Human, an Australian company led by former chief scientist Dr. Alan Finkel. This certification comes shortly after Pope Leo declared artificial intelligence (AI) as a significant threat to humanity. The review, conducted in collaboration with the Australian Catholic University and Vatican cardinals, confirmed the human authorship of the works. The certification process involved using AI detection tools to ensure that the writings were not generated by AI. This initiative aligns with Pope Leo's recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, which warns against the potential dominance of AI over humanity and advocates for technology that is accessible and open to debate.
