Maui Sees Slight Increase in Visitor Arrivals and Spending in June 2026
State tourism officials in Hawaii have reported a slight increase in visitor arrivals and spending for June 2026 compared to the same month in 2025. According to preliminary statistics from the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, 858,577 visitors arrived statewide, with Maui welcoming 229,197 visitors, marking a 1% increase from June 2025. Visitor spending on Maui rose to $516.4 million, up from $511.5 million the previous year. Despite the increase in spending, the average daily census of visitors on Maui decreased by 14.1% compared to June 2025. The average length of stay also dropped from 8.86 days to 7.86 days. The growth in visitor numbers was primarily driven by domestic travelers from the US West and US East, while international markets, including Japan and Canada, saw declines.
