Maine Meteorologist Experiences Uncontrollable Laughter Fit on Live TV After Prank Backfires
Patrick Osborn, a meteorologist for Maine news station WABI, experienced an uncontrollable fit of laughter during a live weather report on Sunday morning. The incident, which lasted for approximately a minute, left viewers stunned as Osborn struggled to maintain his composure, gasping for breath and repeatedly apologizing between chuckles. He eventually had to step off camera before returning and handing off to a colleague. Osborn later explained that the laughter was triggered by a prank he had attempted to play on fellow anchor Josh Gabbard. He had played a short Charlie Brown video for its sound effects during a commercial break, unaware that it was an hour-long compilation that would periodically replay the sound. The audio unexpectedly played again as he began his weather segment, causing him to lose his composure. Osborn described the experience as overwhelming, noting that trying to suppress laughter in such an environment only made it worse.
