This action follows an investigation by Semafor, in collaboration with researchers Jeremy Carrasco and Mason Broxham of Riddance AI, which exposed a network of AI-supercharged 'ghost creators.' These accounts were found to be generating cheap, sensationalized political videos to capitalize on the platform's advertising revenue. The 'ghost creators' involved human actors reading AI-generated scripts, often featuring heated and inaccurate attacks on Democratic politicians such as California Governor Gavin Newsom and New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
