Northern Lights May Be Visible in New Hampshire Tonight
The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center has issued geomagnetic storm watches for Monday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 9, due to a coronal mass ejection (CME) expected to impact Earth's magnetic field. The storm on June 8 is forecasted to reach G3 (strong) levels, potentially making the northern lights visible as far south as Illinois and Oregon. By June 9, the storm is expected to weaken to G2 (moderate) levels, reducing the aurora's visibility range. While New Hampshire lies outside the current forecast viewline, its northern location may still offer a chance to witness the aurora borealis under clear skies. The best viewing times are typically between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. ET, with optimal conditions expected between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET on June 8.
