Flash Flooding Hits Kansas City, Water Rescues Underway
Severe thunderstorms triggered flash flooding across Kansas City early Monday, prompting at least 11 water rescues in high-water areas. Roads and underpasses were flooded, causing traffic disruptions and school delays. Wind gusts reached up to 70 mph as heavy rain overwhelmed the region. More rainfall of 3–5 inches is expected through Tuesday, raising flood risks further. Another dangerous round of storms could develop later Monday, with threats of tornadoes, large hail and damaging winds.
