Ann Sather Restaurant Opens New Flagship in Chicago After 81 Years
Ann Sather, a historic Swedish restaurant in Chicago renowned for its cinnamon rolls, has opened a new flagship location on the border between East Village and Wicker Park. This move follows the closure of its last Belmont Avenue location after 81 years in Lakeview. Owner Tom Tunney, who sold the Belmont property for redevelopment, decided to open the new location to preserve the brand and support employees. The new restaurant maintains the traditional atmosphere with its signature cinnamon rolls and other Swedish dishes. The new location also features fixtures from the old Belmont site, including chandeliers and Norwegian folk art.
