Georgia Family Mourns Tragic Drowning of Three-Year-Old Twins
A family in Georgia is grieving the loss of three-year-old twins, Charlie and Jax Smith, who drowned in a pond behind their mother's home in the Pine Hills Country Club community in Cordele. The incident occurred late Wednesday morning, prompting a response from Crisp County sheriff's deputies. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures before transporting the children to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The Crisp County coroner, Richard Wright, confirmed that the cause of death was drowning and described the event as a 'freak accident,' with no foul play suspected. The children's grandmother, Fran Bumbalough Brown, confirmed their identities in a social media post, expressing the family's deep sorrow and asking for prayers and support.
