Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is under scrutiny as she campaigns for reelection. Bass has been criticized by mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, who accused her of violating election laws by allegedly engaging in electioneering near a polling place. Pratt's complaint, filed with the city clerk, claims that Bass and her supporters solicited votes and displayed campaign signs near a voting location, which is against state law. Bass's campaign has denied these allegations, stating that the activities were conducted within legal boundaries. Additionally, Los Angeles City Councilmember Monica Rodriguez, who previously criticized Bass's homelessness program, has surprisingly endorsed Bass over her opponent, Nithya Raman. Rodriguez cited Bass's willingness to entertain opposing views as a reason for her support.
