Toronto Tech Week Highlights AI Funding and Global Expansion Strategies
During Toronto Tech Week, Minister Evan Solomon announced $16.5 million in federal funding for AI initiatives in the Greater Toronto Area. This funding, part of the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative, aims to support 13 companies and organizations in deploying AI technologies. The event, which runs from May 25 to 29, features over 600 sessions focused on international expansion and AI deployment. Discussions emphasized the importance of market knowledge and infrastructure in successfully scaling businesses globally. The funding is intended to help companies transition AI from research to practical applications, enhancing Canada's position in the global tech landscape.
