Istanbul Street Vendor Alper Temel Becomes Viral Tourist Attraction
Alper Temel, a street food vendor in Istanbul, has gained international fame due to his viral presence on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Temel, who sells chestnuts and corn at his family's stall in the Karaköy district, has attracted tourists from around the world who visit not just for the food but to meet him and take selfies. His social media accounts, created in October 2025, have amassed over 960,000 followers on Instagram and over 695,000 on TikTok. Temel's popularity has led to offers from modeling agencies and acting roles, although he remains focused on his work and family. His fame has also brought attention to the street food his family has been selling for over 15 years.
