The Lupus Research Alliance has launched Lupus Ventures, a new venture investment fund dedicated to advancing therapies and diagnostics for lupus and related autoimmune conditions. Nishant Rastogi, with over a decade of experience in venture capital and private equity, is leading the initiative as Managing Director. The fund aims to identify, evaluate, invest in, and support biotech and medtech companies that have the potential to improve the standard of care or quality of life for individuals living with lupus. Rastogi emphasizes a 'return on mission' approach, focusing on bridging the financing gap for innovative companies in the biotech and medtech ecosystem, which often require substantial capital to progress through preclinical experiments, clinical trials, and regulatory milestones.
