Boston University Wins Robotics Challenge with Innovative Harvesting Robot
Boston University emerged as the winner of the MassRobotics Form & Function Challenge at the Robotics Summit & Expo. The university's team developed AGROBOT T.O.M., a precision-harvesting robot designed for indoor and vertical farming. The robot uses lidar and a vision/machine learning pipeline to identify and harvest ripe produce. The competition, which included teams from various universities, aimed to create robots that excel in both form and function. The event highlighted the integration of advanced software and hardware in robotics projects.
