Haryana Agriculture Minister Advocates for AI in Farming While Valuing Farmers' Experience
Haryana's Agriculture Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, emphasized the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into farming while acknowledging the irreplaceable value of farmers' experience. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 8th Mango Fair at the Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence of Sub-Tropical Fruit in Ladwa, Rana highlighted India's rapid economic growth and the pivotal role of agriculture in this journey. He noted that a network of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) is being established to empower farmers in the market. The event showcased over 200 varieties of mangoes, reflecting the innovation and dedication of farmers. Rana pointed out that AI can significantly benefit farmers by providing insights into soil health, irrigation, crop choices, and market demands, ultimately saving time and reducing costs. He also mentioned the use of drones for farm surveys and AI for soil analysis, underscoring the future of smart farming.
