Notre Dame Launches Initiative to Enhance AI and Computing Education
The University of Notre Dame has introduced the Data, AI, and Computing (DAC) Initiative, a comprehensive effort to integrate emerging technologies into research, education, and societal impact. Directed by Nitesh Chawla, the initiative aims to position Notre Dame as a leader in AI and computing by combining technological fluency with the university's Catholic intellectual tradition. The DAC Initiative will support interdisciplinary research, curriculum development, and industry partnerships to prepare students for AI-driven careers. The initiative also includes new educational programs, such as an undergraduate minor in AI Analytics in Business, and supports research in areas like AI safety and ethical data science.
