Leonardo Unveils AW159 Virtual Cockpit Trainer at ITEC 2026
Leonardo has introduced its AW159 virtual cockpit procedures trainer at the 2026 International Training Technology Exhibition and Conference (ITEC) in London. This concept demonstrator provides an immersive training environment using a head-mounted display, haptic gloves, and a tracking device. The trainer replicates the cockpit of the AW159, allowing pilots to practice normal, malfunction, and emergency procedures without risk. The simulator is controlled by a tablet-hosted instructor station, enabling guided or self-paced training. It is designed for ab initio familiarization, currency maintenance, and check testing, and can be deployed on ships to maintain flight crew skills.
