Lawsuit Challenges Army's Use of AI in Contract Award, Seeks Greater Transparency
TRAX International Corporation has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Army, alleging misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) in evaluating bids for a $450 million contract. The lawsuit claims that AI-induced errors negatively impacted TRAX's proposal for the White Sands Missile Range mission support services. The Government Accountability Office previously denied TRAX's protest, stating the error was harmless. However, TRAX argues that the Army's lack of transparency regarding AI's role in the evaluation process warrants a reevaluation of the proposals. The case highlights the growing role of AI in federal procurement and the need for clear guidelines on its use.
