Nebraska Reports Salmonella Cases Linked to Jalapeño Outbreak
The CDC has linked five cases of salmonella in Nebraska to a national outbreak traced to jalapeño peppers. The outbreak, which has affected 345 people nationwide, is believed to originate from Sinaloa, Mexico, and Coast Citrus Distributors. In response, restaurants like Chipotle and Qdoba have removed jalapeños from their menus as a precaution. The CDC warns that the actual number of cases may be higher, as many individuals recover without medical care and are not tested for salmonella.
