Fire Crews Extinguish Blaze at Arlington's Stella-Jones Plant
Firefighters in Arlington successfully extinguished a 2-alarm fire at the Stella-Jones manufacturing plant on Wednesday. The fire, which broke out early in the morning, required the response of 50 firefighters who worked for several hours to contain the blaze. The plant, known for producing pressure-treated wood products and steel structures, experienced significant damage. The fire is believed to have started in a metal cylinder pressure cooker used for waterproofing telephone poles. No injuries were reported, but residents were advised to avoid using tap water due to potential sediment disturbance caused by the firefighting efforts.
