New Humanoid Robot Gene.01 Debuts with Advanced 'Smart Skin' Technology
Gene.01, a new humanoid robot developed by Generative Bionics, was unveiled at AMD's Advancing AI conference in San Francisco. The robot features 'smart skin' technology, which includes touch and proximity sensors that enhance its interaction capabilities. The touch sensors can detect the location and force of contact, while the proximity sensors, known as time-of-flight sensors, identify nearby objects without direct contact. This technology aims to improve the robot's ability to work closely with humans by preventing collisions and enabling gentle interactions.
