New Fire Near Aspen Acres Raises Concerns Amid Dry Conditions in Colorado
A new fire, named the Salt fire, has ignited near the Aspen Acres fire in Colorado, raising concerns about potential fire growth due to dry conditions and erratic winds. The Aspen Acres fire, currently the largest in the state, has burned 101,546 acres with 61% containment. Firefighters are working to contain the new fire, which has spread across a quarter of an acre. The region has experienced minimal fire activity due to recent precipitation, but significant fuels continue to burn. Crews are reinforcing containment lines and monitoring for new ignitions, while residents in affected areas are beginning to return home.
