Governor Newsom Launches $3,500 Rebate Program for Zero-Emission Vehicles
Governor Gavin Newsom has introduced the 'My First EV Program,' a new initiative offering up to $3,500 in rebates for Californians purchasing their first zero-emission vehicle. Announced at Oakland's Bridge Yard facility, the program is part of a broader effort to promote clean transportation and reduce emissions. The initiative involves a $135 million investment from the state, matched by 13 automakers, to make electric vehicles more accessible to the public. This program aims to support California's environmental goals by encouraging the adoption of zero-emission vehicles, thereby improving public health and contributing to the state's economic growth. The California Air Resources Board is collaborating with the governor's office to implement this program, which is expected to accelerate the transition to cleaner transportation options.
