FDA Expands Frozen Berry Recall Due to E. Coli Contamination in Walmart and Trader Joe's Products
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced an expanded recall of frozen berries, including products sold at Walmart and Trader Joe's, due to potential contamination with E. Coli O145 bacteria. This expansion follows an initial recall in July involving Publix products and a subsequent expansion in September to include more Walmart items. The latest recall, announced on October 2, includes additional lots of Great Value frozen Organic Triple Berry Blend and Great Value frozen Organic Blueberries from Walmart, as well as one lot of Trader Joe’s frozen Organic Mixed Berry Blend. The contamination has been traced back to frozen blueberries from the July incident. The affected Walmart products were shipped to stores in 30 states and Puerto Rico, while the Trader Joe's products were distributed to select stores in 26 states and the District of Columbia.
