New Mexico Allocates $83 Million for Electric Grid Modernization and Energy Efficiency
New Mexico's Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department has announced an $83 million investment to support electric grid modernization and residential energy-efficiency improvements across the state. This funding includes $67 million dedicated to strengthening the state's electric infrastructure to meet increasing energy demand. Additionally, $16 million is allocated to the Community Energy Efficiency Development (CEED) program, which aims to reduce energy costs for underserved communities through home energy audits and efficiency upgrades. The funding is part of a larger initiative, the Community Benefit Fund, which was established during the 2025 legislative session to invest in clean energy, climate resilience, and workforce development projects.
