Vocus Fibre Break Causes Major Service Outage in Victoria and NSW
Vocus customers in Victoria and New South Wales experienced a significant service disruption due to a fibre link break at Broadford, north of Melbourne. The break, which occurred around 8:40 am AEST, affected intercapital and regional transmission capacity, impacting approximately 140 services. Vocus notified customers of the issue and deployed splicing technicians to the site to address the problem. The outage was attributed to unspecified civil works, and repair crews worked throughout the day to restore service. By late afternoon, Vocus reported that the cable had been repaired, and services were restored just before 6 pm AEST.
