East Coast Prepares for First Summer-Like Heatwave of the Season
The East Coast is set to experience its first significant heatwave of the season, with temperatures expected to rise into the upper 80s and low 90s°F (31-33°C) over the weekend and into early next week. According to the FOX Forecast Center, this surge in warmth follows a cooler-than-average start to May. The heatwave will begin in the Midwest and Southeast before spreading to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Major cities like Atlanta, Nashville, and Cincinnati are forecast to see temperatures 10-20°F above average. The heat is expected to persist longer than typical one- or two-day warm-ups, with record highs possible in states from Missouri to New Jersey.
