The department refuted these claims, stating that participation in the program is voluntary and that no business has been denied a permit for opting out. They emphasized the benefits of the technology in improving public safety and response times. The department also addressed Oliver's criticism regarding the provision of Fusus records, acknowledging a mistake in providing a paper printout instead of a digital file.
