SWAT Vehicle Rams Tractor During Standoff with Gunman in Oregon
A dramatic standoff unfolded south of Portland, Oregon, involving Erik Gordon Shunn, 53, who allegedly engaged in a shooting spree targeting tree workers before confronting authorities. According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Shunn fired over 200 rounds during the incident. A CCSO drone captured video showing Shunn firing at the aircraft. During the standoff, Shunn was observed using a tractor to knock down trees, seemingly attempting to create a barricade. Authorities made the decision to ram Shunn's tractor with a SWAT vehicle when he became separated from his rifle while driving near his home. This action was taken to safely apprehend Shunn, as SWAT personnel believed it presented the best opportunity. Shunn was treated for injuries before being taken to a local hospital for evaluation. No other injuries were reported, including to Shunn's mother, who was also at the home.
