Fairtrade International Coordinates Global Activities to Promote Ethical Trade
Fairtrade International, established in 1997, is a non-profit organization that coordinates activities for its 22 member organizations, including three producer networks and 19 national Fairtrade organizations. The organization owns the FAIRTRADE Mark, a registered trademark that appears on over 30,000 products worldwide. Fairtrade International operates from its central offices in Bonn, Germany, employing approximately 90 staff members. The organization facilitates decision-making through representatives on its Board of Directors and the Fairtrade General Assembly, ensuring that all system members and certified producer organizations have a voice in its operations.
