U.S. Coast Guard Joins Search for Carnival Panorama Passenger Overboard Near Mexico
A 56-year-old passenger from the Carnival Panorama cruise ship, en route from Puerto Vallarta to Long Beach, California, reportedly jumped overboard off the coast of Mexico. According to Global News Canada, Carnival Cruise Line confirmed the incident and stated that the ship's crew initiated search and verification procedures, including reviewing surveillance footage, immediately after being notified of the passenger's disappearance. The U.S. Coast Guard received information about the man going overboard late Friday evening and began coordinating a search-and-rescue operation on Saturday afternoon. U.S. Coast Guard aircraft have been deployed, and the Mexican Navy, along with commercial vessels in the vicinity, are also participating in the ongoing search efforts. The cruise line is providing support to the passenger's family, who were traveling with him on the seven-day cruise that included stops in various Mexican coastal communities.
