Minnesota Woman Sues Chipotle Over Salmonella Outbreak
Kristen Behne, a Minnesota resident, has filed a lawsuit against Chipotle after allegedly contracting a salmonella infection from a burrito bowl purchased at a Chipotle restaurant in Roseville, Minnesota. The lawsuit claims that the infection, linked to contaminated jalapeno peppers, resulted in Behne being hospitalized with sepsis. The salmonella outbreak has affected 345 people across 27 states, with jalapenos from a specific grower in Mexico identified as the source. Chipotle has since removed the affected jalapenos from its restaurants and replaced them with products from different growers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has advised businesses to check their inventory for the recalled peppers.
