Chipotle Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Rodent in Burrito Bowl Delivered via DoorDash
A lawsuit has been filed against Chipotle Mexican Grill by Gia Bernhardt, who claims she bit into a rodent while eating a burrito bowl ordered from a Chipotle location on the Upper East Side of New York City. The order was placed through the DoorDash app. The lawsuit, filed in New York County Supreme Court, alleges that the incident caused Bernhardt severe bodily injuries, pain, shock, and mental anguish. Chipotle has denied the allegations, stating that their internal investigation suggests the object was a chicken tendon or ligament. The lawsuit also names DoorDash and an unnamed deliveryman as co-defendants, accusing them of delivering the product in an unsafe and unsanitary manner. The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
