Israeli Study Finds Green Spaces Reduce Stress in Pregnant Women
A study led by researchers from Bar-Ilan University in Israel has found that pregnant women living near green spaces experience lower levels of long-term stress. The research, conducted in collaboration with several institutions, including Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, analyzed hair samples from pregnant women to measure stress hormone levels. The study revealed that women residing in greener neighborhoods had significantly lower concentrations of cortisol and cortisone, hormones associated with stress. This finding underscores the health benefits of residential greenery, particularly during pregnancy.
