American Mural Project Announces August Event Lineup Featuring Historical and Community Programs
The American Mural Project (AMP) has unveiled its August 2026 schedule of events at its Winsted, Connecticut venue, which houses the world's largest indoor collaborative artwork. The lineup includes a historical program centered on the Great Flood of 1955, which devastated Winsted and nearby communities. This program features a documentary, an educational lecture, and an exhibit showcasing photographs and artifacts from the flood. Additionally, AMP will host community events such as The Big Ol’ Family Day Arty Party and a Piano Happy Hour. The venue will also continue its WORKS FOR ME! initiative, offering free admission to teachers and educators throughout August. The events are part of AMP's year-long celebration of America250, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
