Taunton High Students Excel in National Culinary Competition, Showcasing Restaurant Management Skills
Three students from Taunton High School recently participated in the National ProStart Invitational held in Baltimore, where they placed 15th out of 48 teams in the restaurant management category. The team, consisting of Logan Rebello, Ashlyn Hebert, and Samuel Andrade, represented Taunton Public Schools and competed against state champion teams from across the country. The competition, hosted by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, required participants to develop and present a comprehensive restaurant business plan. The Taunton team created an original concept called Sauce 22, a Texas-style barbecue restaurant featuring 22 signature sauces. Their proposal included a detailed 32-page document covering the restaurant's concept, menu, operations plan, marketing strategy, floor plan, and interior design. The students were praised for their professionalism, critical thinking, and industry knowledge.
