SpaceX Prepares Massive Starship Test in Texas
SpaceX is targeting Thursday, May 21, for the first Starship flight test of 2026 from Boca Chica, Texas, after months of delays and major upgrades to the rocket system. The mission will test redesigned Starship and Super Heavy vehicles, deploy 22 Starlink simulator satellites and attempt a Gulf water landing. However, thunderstorms, gusty winds and unstable weather in South Texas could threaten launch plans during the evening launch window.
