EU Grant Boosts EIB Support for Ukraine's District Heating Systems
A new €30 million grant from the European Union will enhance the European Investment Bank's (EIB) support for Ukraine's district heating systems. This grant, provided by the European Commission under the Ukraine Facility, complements an existing €200 million in EIB financing made available through three Ukrainian banks: Ukrgasbank (UGB), Oschadbank, and Ukreximbank. The combined funding aims to help frontline municipalities in Ukraine restore, modernize, and secure reliable heat supply. Projects supported by this initiative include repairing, protecting, and upgrading district heating networks, developing decentralized heat generation, and investing in cleaner, more efficient energy solutions.
