John Goodwin Derdall Passes Away at 90, Leaving Legacy in Theater Arts
John Goodwin Derdall, a prominent figure in the theater arts community, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on March 31, 2026. Derdall was a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Theater Arts and had a distinguished career working for major TV networks in Chicago, including WGN, NBC, and CBS. He was a life member of the United Scenic Artists Union, Local 829, and contributed significantly to the Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades by helping establish the Retirement Fund. His passing marks the end of a notable career in the arts and television industry.
