Physicists Utilize Earth as Giant Dark Matter Detector, Uncovering Mysterious Signals
Physicists have transformed the entire planet Earth into a massive dark matter detector, leading to the discovery of numerous candidate signals that align with predictions for hypothetical dark matter particles. This innovative experiment, detailed in a series of papers by physicists in Japan, analyzed data from Earth's magnetic field collected by the British Geological Survey between 2012 and 2022. The researchers hypothesized that if axions, a promising dark matter candidate, are passing through Earth, they should resonate between the planet's surface and the ionosphere, generating electromagnetic waves at specific frequencies.
