Cause of Fire at Columbia McDonald's Determined as Accidental
The Columbia Fire Department has identified the cause of a fire at a newly opened McDonald's on Providence Road as accidental, resulting from improperly discarded smoking materials. The fire, which occurred less than two months after the restaurant's grand opening, led to temporary closure and required significant firefighting efforts. Two firefighters were treated for heat-related illnesses, but no civilian injuries were reported. Restoration efforts are underway to repair the damage caused by the fire.
