Elawa Farm Foundation Achieves Inclusive Employment Goal for Individuals with Disabilities
Elawa Farm Foundation in Lake Forest has successfully met its goal of having 10% of its workforce comprised of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This initiative is part of their Workforce Development Program, which began as a partnership with the Center for Enriched Living (CEL) in 2022. The program aims to provide greater employment opportunities and accessibility for people with developmental disabilities. Currently, six members of their year-round workforce are part of this program, working in various roles such as food runners, bussers, custodial staff, and gardeners. The foundation plans to expand this initiative by hiring more individuals from the program.
