Pennsylvania State Employees Embrace AI Tools Amid Job Protection Concerns
Over 3,000 Pennsylvania state government employees are now using artificial intelligence (AI) tools in their daily work, following a pilot program initiated in 2024. The program, in partnership with OpenAI, aims to enhance efficiency without eliminating jobs. The state has implemented policies to ensure human oversight in AI-generated work, and employees are trained to use these tools responsibly. The initiative has been recognized for its AI readiness, with more employees undergoing training. The state has also established a Generative AI Governing Board to oversee the use of AI technologies.
