On Wednesday afternoon, users of ChatGPT, an AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, experienced a temporary outage. The issue, which began around 4 p.m. PT, resulted in a 'Content failed to load' error for some users, particularly in major U.S. cities like Seattle, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. The disruption was reported to be a medium-level issue, with over 3,000 error reports logged by DownDetector, a platform that tracks online service outages. The outage primarily affected ChatGPT services, accounting for 78% of the reports. By 4:30 p.m. PT, the service appeared to be operational again. OpenAI has not yet commented on the cause of the outage.
