Mackenzie Shirilla's Texts Reveal Troubled Relationship Before Fatal Crash
Mackenzie Shirilla, convicted of murder for a fatal car crash, had previously sent texts to her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, expressing a willingness to die for him. These messages were part of a large release of phone records by the Strongsville Police Department. The texts reveal a tumultuous relationship, with Shirilla displaying violent tendencies and reckless behavior. In July 2022, Shirilla deliberately crashed her car, killing Russo and another passenger, Davion Flanagan. She is currently serving two concurrent sentences of 15 years to life, with her case gaining attention through a Netflix documentary.
