Youth Justice Workers Publish Anthology Highlighting Young Artists' Experiences
Michaela Allen and P. Anneka Lynch, both involved in youth justice services in Canada, have edited a new anthology titled 'Let Me Be Honest: 28 Young Artists on Surviving an Uncertain World.' This collection features works from Canadian teens, focusing on their personal experiences and challenges. The anthology aims to provide a platform for young voices, allowing them to express their truths through various forms of art and writing. Allen and Lynch emphasized the importance of creating a culturally responsive book that addresses issues like harm reduction and substance misuse, while also reflecting the realities of growing up during a pandemic. The project involved workshops and discussions to help young contributors feel comfortable sharing their stories, ultimately empowering them to become experts in their own narratives.
